Cuomo changes his tune after the national election

Before the election results were settled:

Andrew Cuomo: We are at the moment of decision. Decide public health matters. Decide your health and the health of your family matters. Stay New York Tough. Stay home.

After:

ABC News: NY Gov Cuomo predicts the 'tone' on how states handle COVID-19 will change now that Joe Biden is the apparent winner of the 2020 election.

Andrew Cuomo: We symply cannot stay closed until the vaccine hits critical mass. The cost is too high. We will have nothing left to open. We must reopen the economy, but we must do it smartly and safely.

Wait wait... Is Andrew Cuomo a COVID denier?

What changed Drew? Does public health not matter anymore? Does our health not matter anymore?

If these were really public health measures backed by science, why would an election change that science? The only science I know of tied to an election is called political science, and it certainly doesn't save lives.

Were the lockdowns really about something else?
